Etched Sake
Etched Sake (#7F6F0A) is a deep amber with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. German ätzen, to etch — past-participle of etch. The Japanese rice wine — fermented from polished rice and used in religious offerings, weddings, and the kanpai toast. Sake color refers to fresh-poured junmai sake in a masu cedar box: a soft, slightly cool pale yellow with the optical clarity of grain-fermented alcohol. Cooler than mead.
