Crepuscular Antarctic
Crepuscular Antarctic (#02308E) is a deep azure with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (220°, 97%, 28%) places it in the highly saturated band at a dark lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Etymology
Latin crepusculāris, of twilight — derived from crepusculum (twilight). As a color modifier, crepuscular implies the deep blue-violet darkness of civil-twilight period between sunset and nightfall. Sits at the deep-and-cool end of the grid, where the hue carries the Belt of Venus atmospheric-scattering quality of clear-sky horizon at dusk.
The continent at Earth's southern pole — and the saturated deep blue of Antarctic polynyas (open-water gaps in the sea ice) and the deep blue beneath fresh-calved icebergs. Antarctic refers to a polynya in the Ross Sea: a saturated, slightly cool deep blue with the optical depth of cold polar seawater.
