Stamped Sandalwood
Stamped Sandalwood (#FECCA0) is a soft orange with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Old English stempan, to stamp — past-participle of stamp. The genus Santalum — particularly S. album, the Indian sandalwood whose aromatic heartwood has been carved into Hindu and Buddhist religious objects since the Vedic period. The color refers to a freshly carved Mysore sandalwood Buddha: a soft, slightly cool warm tan with the satin finish of resin-rich wood.
