Trim Persimmon
Trim Persimmon (#FCD2BE) is a soft orange with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. Its HSL profile (19°, 91%, 87%) places it in the highly saturated band at a light lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Old English trymman, to make firm — sharing root with firm. As a color modifier, trim implies a clear-and-neatly-arranged quality where the hue carries the visual register of carefully-edited surface-detail. Sits at the crisp-and-neat end of the grid, parallel to neat and tidy in usage.
Diospyros kaki, the East Asian persimmon — a fruit eaten ripe from the tree in Japan since at least the eighth century, where its color is named kaki-iro. The fall color of the unblemished astringent fruit: a dense, slightly red orange with the velvet finish of a wax-skinned Hachiya. Closer to maple syrup than to citrus, with the patient warmth of a fruit that takes a hard frost to sweeten.
