Hemmed Sicily
Hemmed Sicily (#FBEDA1) is a soft amber with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. Its HSL profile (51°, 92%, 81%) places it in the highly saturated band at a light lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Old English hem, border — past-participle of hem. As a color modifier, hemmed implies a clear-and-finished-and-bordered quality where the hue carries the visual register of carefully-hemmed-and-finished textile-edge. The Italian island — and the saturated lemon-yellow of Sicilian limoncello, granita al limone, and the lemon orchards of the Conca d'Oro. Sicily as a color refers to the inside of a Sicilian Femminello lemon cut against a market-stall backdrop: a saturated, slightly cool deep yellow with the optical brightness of high-water-content citrus.
