Kindled Tabasco
Kindled Tabasco (#FB4227) is a true red with a neon character. It sits at the high-saturation edge of its family. Use it sparingly, as signage, accent, or highlight against darker surfaces. Its HSL profile (8°, 96%, 57%) places it in the highly saturated band at a mid lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Old Norse kynda, to set on fire — past-participle of kindle. As a color modifier, kindled implies a saturated-and-newly-lit quality, the bright color of autumn-bonfire-and-stove-fire initial-combustion emission. Sits at the bright-and-warm end of the grid, parallel to ignited and aflame in usage.
The Mexican state — and the brand of pepper sauce produced there since 1868 from Capsicum frutescens. Tabasco as a color refers to the bright red-orange of the famous sauce: a saturated, slightly orange red with the slight viscosity of vinegar-and-pepper extract. Brighter than rust, warmer than tomato.
