Showy Papaya
Showy Papaya (#FA5822) is a true orange with a neon character. It sits at the high-saturation edge of its family. Use it sparingly, as signage, accent, or highlight against darker surfaces. Old English scēawian, to look at — adjectival suffix -y. Carica papaya, the tropical fruit of Mesoamerica and now a global breakfast staple. The color refers to the inside of a ripe papaya: a saturated, slightly pink orange with the soft texture of melon. Brighter than salmon, warmer than coral, with the distinctive coral-orange that papain — the fruit's signature enzyme — extracts and sells as meat tenderizer.
