The genus Magnolia — flowering trees whose lineage predates pollinating bees and is therefore pollinated principally by beetles. The color refers to a fresh white Magnolia grandiflora bloom: a soft, very pale slightly warm cream-white with the satin finish of thick wax-coated petals.
