Lucid Citron
Lucid Citron (#F5E99F) is a soft amber with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Latin lūcidus, clear / bright — derived from lūx (light). As a color modifier, lucid implies a clear-and-readable quality where the hue is unambiguous and free of optical clutter. Sits at the crisp-and-clear end of the grid, parallel to pellucid and plain in usage.
Citrus medica, the ancestral citrus from which lemons, limes, and oranges all descend through hybridization. The fruit reached Europe before lemons and gave its name to the pale, slightly green yellow of its thick rind. Cooler than lemon, lighter than chartreuse, with the candied aroma of the Jewish etrog and the medieval European preference for the rind over the flesh. Cédrat in French; cedro in Italian.
