Holographic Kohbai
Holographic Kohbai (#F47AC8) is a soft magenta with a cool character. It leans cool, sitting on the blue, green, and violet side of the wheel. Quiet and dependable, a fit for product UI and data visualization. Its HSL profile (322°, 85%, 72%) places it in the highly saturated band at a light lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Greek hólos (whole) and graphé (writing) — adjectival suffix -ic. Japanese 紅梅, red plum-blossom (Prunus mume var. kohbai) — the deep-pink-flowered cultivar of Japanese plum, a traditional New Year color in Heian-period kasane no irome layered silks. Kohbai color refers to a fully bloomed kohbai plum branch in February: a saturated, slightly cool deep magenta with the velvet finish of fresh plum-blossom petals against bare branches in early-spring snow.
