Strobing

Greek stróbos, whirling — present-participle of strobe. As a color modifier, strobing implies a saturated-and-pulse-flashing quality, the bright color of concert-strobe-light and photographic-strobe high-frequency-pulse light emission. Sits at the bright-and-flashing end of the grid, parallel to flashing and pulsating in usage.

The Persian word for pomegranate — and a recurring color and motif in Persian miniature painting, carpet design, and ceramic tile. The color refers to the inside of a ripe pomegranate held against light: a saturated, slightly cool deep red with the optical complexity of clustered translucent arils. Cooler than coral, deeper than rose.
