Etched Zafarani
Etched Zafarani (#EFC583) is a soft amber with a warm character. It leans warm, pulling light toward red, orange, and yellow. Naturally inviting, it suits editorial and hospitality contexts. Its HSL profile (37°, 77%, 73%) places it in the highly saturated band at a light lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. German ätzen, to etch — past-participle of etch. As a color modifier, etched implies a clear-and-precisely-incised quality, the crisp color of Rembrandt-and-Dürer hand-pulled etching-print fine-line incised-image. The Persian word for saffron-colored — used for the warm yellow-orange of zafarani-čubeh and the saffron-dyed silk of Safavid court robes. The color refers to zafarani-dyed silk: a saturated, slightly red-shifted gold-yellow with the satin finish of plant-dyed silk. Warmer than saffron, deeper than zard.
