Animated Bordo
Animated Bordo (#EFA1EA) is a soft violet with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. Its HSL profile (304°, 71%, 78%) places it in the balanced band at a light lightness. It works as a background wash, large-area fill, or soft illustration tone. Add a darker ink of the same hue when you need type over it. For a confident two-color system, pair it with its complementary green. Latin animātus, given-life — past-participle of animāre, derived from anima (soul, breath). As a color modifier, animated implies a saturated-and-life-given quality where the hue carries visual movement-and-vitality. Polish for Bordeaux — adopted into Polish color terminology as the name for deep wine purple, the dominant Polish-folk church-textile color of the Counter-Reformation period. Bordo color refers to a Polish-Catholic Lenten purple chasuble: a saturated, slightly cool deep violet with the matte finish of multi-bath fermentation-and-iron-mordant wool. Slightly warmer than Russian purpurnyy.
