Misty Sabz
Misty Sabz (#EEFFDD) is a soft lime with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. Its HSL profile (90°, 100%, 93%) places it in the highly saturated band at a light lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. For a confident two-color system, pair it with its complementary indigo. For something softer, pull in its analogous neighbors on either side of the wheel.
Etymology
An adjectival form of mist — used as a color modifier since the sixteenth century for hues that read as if seen through fog or mist. Misty blue, misty gray: low saturation combined with the slight optical haziness of suspended water droplets. Sits at the pale-bucket alongside hazy.
The Persian word for green — both as the color of foliage and as a metaphor for renewal in Persian poetry (Hafiz writes of the sabz-poosh — those clothed in green). Sabz refers to the green of fresh herbs in a Persian sabzi-khordan salad: a saturated, slightly yellow-green with the matte finish of fresh-picked greens. The Iranian cousin of green.
