Sparking Yunnan (#EEEA55) is a true yellow with a vibrant character. It holds its own as a focal accent, carrying visual weight without tipping into neon territory. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Etymology
Old English spearca, spark — present-participle of spark. As a color modifier, sparking implies a saturated-and-electrical-emission quality, the bright color of welding-arc-and-Tesla-coil high-voltage spark-discharge emission. Sits at the bright-and-electric end of the grid, parallel to flashing and coruscating in usage.
The southwestern Chinese province — and the deep yellow of Yunnan Pu-erh tea liquor and the yellow stripe in the jīnhuáng glaze of Tang-dynasty Yunnan ceramics. Yunnan refers to a fresh-brewed Yunnan Pu-erh in a porcelain cup: a saturated, slightly red-shifted gold-yellow with the optical depth of fermented-tea liquor.
