Polished Hibiscadelphus (#EEACC8) is a soft magenta with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. Its HSL profile (335°, 66%, 80%) places it in the balanced band at a light lightness. It works as a background wash, large-area fill, or soft illustration tone. Latin polīre, to polish — past-participle of polish. As a color modifier, polished implies a clear-and-smooth-and-glossy quality where the hue carries the visual register of buffed-and-burnished smooth-finish surface. A genus of Hawaiian endemic hibiscus relatives — H. distans and H. giffardianus — whose deep red flowers are pollinated by Hawaiian honeycreepers. Most species are now extinct or critically endangered. The color refers to the petal of a fresh H. distans bloom: a saturated, slightly cool deep red with the satin finish of mallow-family flower.
