Chalky Copper
Chalky Copper (#EDD0C6) is a soft orange with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. Its HSL profile (15°, 52%, 85%) places it in the balanced band at a light lightness. It works as a background wash, large-area fill, or soft illustration tone. An adjectival form of chalk — used as a color modifier since the seventeenth century for hues with the matte finish of chalk pigment. Chalky white, chalky blue: low saturation combined with the optical mattness of micron-scale calcium carbonate. Sits at the pale-bucket alongside powder and dusty.
