Ironed Sake
Ironed Sake (#ECF49C) is a soft yellow with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. Its HSL profile (65°, 80%, 78%) places it in the highly saturated band at a light lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Old English īsern, iron — past-participle of iron. As a color modifier, ironed implies a clear-and-smoothed-and-pressed quality, the crisp color of Mid-Century-Modern freshly-ironed-shirt-and-trouser dress-attire textile finish. Sits at the crisp-and-finished end of the grid, parallel to pressed and starched in usage.
The Japanese rice wine — fermented from polished rice and used in religious offerings, weddings, and the kanpai toast. Sake color refers to fresh-poured junmai sake in a masu cedar box: a soft, slightly cool pale yellow with the optical clarity of grain-fermented alcohol. Cooler than mead.
