Acid Kikyo
Acid Kikyo (#ECA3F2) is a soft violet with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. Its HSL profile (295°, 75%, 79%) places it in the balanced band at a light lightness. It works as a background wash, large-area fill, or soft illustration tone. Add a darker ink of the same hue when you need type over it. For a confident two-color system, pair it with its complementary green. Latin acidus, sour — sharing root with English acrid and acerbic. The flower is one of the Seven Autumn Flowers of classical waka poetry. Kikyo color refers to a fully unfurled Platycodon grandiflorus corolla: a saturated, slightly cool deep violet with the velvet finish of fresh balloon-flower petals.
