Strobing Brandy
Strobing Brandy (#EC9D46) is a true orange with a vibrant character. It holds its own as a focal accent, carrying visual weight without tipping into neon territory. Its HSL profile (31°, 81%, 60%) places it in the highly saturated band at a mid lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Etymology
Greek stróbos, whirling — present-participle of strobe. As a color modifier, strobing implies a saturated-and-pulse-flashing quality, the bright color of concert-strobe-light and photographic-strobe high-frequency-pulse light emission. Sits at the bright-and-flashing end of the grid, parallel to flashing and pulsating in usage.
The grape-distilled spirit — particularly French Cognac and Armagnac, aged in oak barrels for the warm gold-brown of Old World brandy. The color refers to a Cognac VS in a snifter: a soft, slightly red-shifted warm gold with the optical clarity of grape-distilled spirit aged 2–5 years.
