Refulgent Goa
Refulgent Goa (#EC42A4) is a true magenta with a vibrant character. It holds its own as a focal accent, carrying visual weight without tipping into neon territory. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Etymology
Latin refulgēns, shining-back — present-participle of refulgere, sharing root with fulgor (lightning). As a color modifier, refulgent implies a saturated-and-reflective-shining quality, the bright color of polished-bronze-and-armor reflective-surface mid-day-sun reflection. Sits at the bright-and-saturated end of the grid, parallel to effulgent and resplendent in usage.
Indian Konkan-coast state — once a Portuguese colonial outpost (1510–1961) whose churches, fish-market stalls, and saris carry the gulābi deep-magenta of bandhani tie-dyed cotton. Goa color refers to a bandhani-tied magenta sari at a Goa fish-market stall: a saturated, slightly cool deep magenta with the matte finish of natural-dye-and-resist-tied cotton. Warmer than Bengali neel.
