Sprinkled Cadmium (#EAC5B2) is a soft orange with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. Middle Dutch sprenkel, spot — past-participle of sprinkle. As a color modifier, sprinkled implies a pale-and-scattered-and-dotted quality, the pale color of baker's-confection scattered-and-decorative-sugar-and-jimmies finely-scattered-decorative-pattern surface-finish. Sits at the pale-and-soft end of the grid, parallel to dusted and scattered in usage.
