Stripped Sulfur
Stripped Sulfur (#E4F5A5) is a soft yellow with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Old English stripian, to strip — past-participle of strip. As a color modifier, stripped implies a clear-and-bared-and-unornamented quality, the crisp color of Cistercian-and-Bauhaus anti-ornamental stripped-down architectural interior. Pure sulfur dust gave its color to the explosive mixtures of medieval gunpowder and to the fungicide vineyards of nineteenth-century France. The color is the surface of a freshly cleaved sulfur crystal: a saturated, slightly green-shifted yellow with the resinous finish of the elemental mineral.
