Sprinkled Pumice
Sprinkled Pumice (#DFCCC0) is a soft orange with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. Its HSL profile (23°, 33%, 81%) places it in the balanced band at a light lightness. It works as a background wash, large-area fill, or soft illustration tone. Add a darker ink of the same hue when you need type over it. For a confident two-color system, pair it with its complementary azure. Middle Dutch sprenkel, spot — past-participle of sprinkle. As a color modifier, sprinkled implies a pale-and-scattered-and-dotted quality, the pale color of baker's-confection scattered-and-decorative-sugar-and-jimmies finely-scattered-decorative-pattern surface-finish. Sits at the pale-and-soft end of the grid, parallel to dusted and scattered in usage.

Pumice color refers to a freshly cleaved Pompeii-Pumice pyroclastic-flow deposit face: a pale cool gray with the matte finish of cooling-rate-quenched highly-vesicular silicic-magma-glass with the characteristic pumice-stone macroporosity.
