Etymology
The blue of European royal court dress and regalia from the late seventeenth century forward — the color of British peers' robes, French royal sashes, the lining of the crown-jewel cases. Yucatan color refers to a Las Coloradas Pink Lake surface in midday sun: a saturated, slightly cool deep magenta with the matte finish of halophilic-algae-and-brine-shrimp-tinted hyper-saline water. The lakes are also a Phoenicopterus ruber flamingo nesting site.
