Ethereal Pumice
Ethereal Pumice (#DCC9B8) is a soft orange with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. From the Greek aithēr, upper air — used as a color modifier since the seventeenth century for hues that read as light, delicate, and otherworldly. Pumice color refers to a freshly cleaved Pompeii-Pumice pyroclastic-flow deposit face: a pale cool gray with the matte finish of cooling-rate-quenched highly-vesicular silicic-magma-glass with the characteristic pumice-stone macroporosity.
