Engraved Erythrite
Engraved Erythrite (#DBA6D8) is a soft violet with a cool character. It leans cool, sitting on the blue, green, and violet side of the wheel. Quiet and dependable, a fit for product UI and data visualization. Its HSL profile (303°, 42%, 75%) places it in the balanced band at a light lightness. Old French engraver, to dig in — past-participle of engrave. Erythrite color refers to a freshly fractured Schneeberg erythrite crystal cluster: a saturated, slightly cool deep violet with the matte finish of acicular hydrated cobalt-arsenate crystals. Named for the Greek erythros (red), though the mineral is purple-violet.
