Phantom Bonaire
Phantom Bonaire (#DAFEEC) is a soft teal with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. Its HSL profile (150°, 95%, 93%) places it in the highly saturated band at a light lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Greek phántasma, apparition — adjectival usage of phantom. As a color modifier, phantom implies a pale-and-ghostly-and-translucent quality, the pale color of Edwardian-spirit-photograph and Pre-Raphaelite-painting ghostly-and-apparition supernatural-iconography. Sits at the pale-and-ethereal end of the grid, parallel to ghostly and wraithlike in usage.
The Dutch Caribbean island — and the saturated blue-green of Bonaire's marine-park reef waters, designated the world's first national-park dive zone in 1979. Bonaire refers to the lagoon water around Klein Bonaire: a saturated, slightly cool deep blue-green with the optical clarity of southern Caribbean reef water.
