Disciplined Zǐ
Disciplined Zǐ (#D9BBE1) is a soft violet with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. Latin disciplīna, teaching / training — past-participle of discipline. Zǐ color refers to a Tang-dynasty imperial robe field: a saturated, slightly cool deep violet with the silk luster of multi-bath gromwell-root-and-indigo overdye on tussah silk. Cooler than zǐsè (formal deep purple).
