Engraved Patchouli (#D8AEE4) is a soft violet with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. Old French engraver, to dig in — past-participle of engrave. Patchouli color refers to a fully bloomed Pogostemon cablin spike on an Indonesian shamrock-leaf shrub: a saturated, slightly cool deep violet with the matte finish of dense small two-lipped patchouli corollas. The English name comes from the Tamil paccuḷ.
