Sheer Jericho
Sheer Jericho (#D1C0CE) is a soft magenta with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. Its HSL profile (311°, 16%, 79%) places it in the muted band at a light lightness. It works as a background wash, large-area fill, or soft illustration tone. Old English scīr, clear, pure — used as a color modifier since the eighteenth century for hues with the optical translucency of fine fabric. Jericho color refers to a Jericho-produced Tyrian-purple-dyed talith prayer shawl: a saturated, slightly cool deep violet with the matte finish of multi-bath Murex shellfish dye on Levantine wool. Slightly warmer than Tyre itself.
