Sprinkled Auvergne
Sprinkled Auvergne (#CFDEBC) is a soft lime with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. Its HSL profile (86°, 34%, 80%) places it in the balanced band at a light lightness. It works as a background wash, large-area fill, or soft illustration tone. Add a darker ink of the same hue when you need type over it. For a confident two-color system, pair it with its complementary indigo. Middle Dutch sprenkel, spot — past-participle of sprinkle. As a color modifier, sprinkled implies a pale-and-scattered-and-dotted quality, the pale color of baker's-confection scattered-and-decorative-sugar-and-jimmies finely-scattered-decorative-pattern surface-finish. Sits at the pale-and-soft end of the grid, parallel to dusted and scattered in usage.

Auvergne refers to an Auvergne montagne in early summer: a saturated, slightly muted deep yellow-green with the matte finish of volcanic-soil grass.
