Settled Apatite (#CFAE65) is a true amber with a warm character. It leans warm, pulling light toward red, orange, and yellow. Naturally inviting, it suits editorial and hospitality contexts. Etymology
The past participle of settle, to come to rest — used as a color modifier since the seventeenth century for hues that read as stabilized after a process. Settled green, settled brown: moderate saturation combined with optical permanence. Sits at the crisp-bucket alongside steady and composed.
A calcium phosphate mineral — known to mineralogists as the source rock for fertilizer and to gem traders as a yellow-to-green-to-blue gem.
