Aligned Dust
Aligned Dust (#CFA8EF) is a soft indigo with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. Its HSL profile (273°, 69%, 80%) places it in the balanced band at a light lightness. It works as a background wash, large-area fill, or soft illustration tone. French à-ligne, to-line-up — past-participle of align. As a color modifier, aligned implies a clear-and-axis-coordinated quality where the hue carries the visual register of carefully-parallel-arranged elements. Fine particulate matter — atmospheric dust from soil weathering, dry-lakebed loess, the micron-scale residue that settles on every surface in any room with air movement.
