Folded Ireland
Folded Ireland (#CBECAC) is a soft lime with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. Its HSL profile (91°, 63%, 80%) places it in the balanced band at a light lightness. It works as a background wash, large-area fill, or soft illustration tone. Add a darker ink of the same hue when you need type over it. For a confident two-color system, pair it with its complementary indigo. Old English fealdan, to fold — past-participle of fold. As a color modifier, folded implies a clear-and-creased-and-arranged quality where the hue carries the visual register of carefully-folded-and-neatly-arranged textile surface. Sits at the crisp-and-finished end of the grid, parallel to pressed and trim in usage.
The Emerald Isle — and the saturated deep green of Irish countryside, the cathair (capital green) of Dublin, and the Connacht shamrock symbol. Ireland refers to a County Kerry hillside in May: a saturated, slightly cool deep green with the matte finish of well-watered Atlantic-coast grass.
