Powder Pennant
Powder Pennant (#CBDAFA) is a soft azure with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. Its HSL profile (221°, 82%, 89%) places it in the highly saturated band at a light lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Etymology
Talc — magnesium silicate ground to fine particles for personal hygiene since the nineteenth century. Powder blue refers to the pale, slightly green-shifted blue of mid-century Robin's-egg talc tins and the quilted cotton of newborn-boy nurseries: a soft, very pale blue with the matte finish of micron-scale particles. Lighter than periwinkle, warmer than ice, with the postwar consumer-goods association of a color tied to bath salts and powder rooms.
A long triangular flag flown by warships — particularly the British Royal Navy commissioning pennant (a long blue-and-white streamer flown when a ship is in active commission). Pennant color refers to a fresh commissioning pennant: a saturated, slightly cool deep blue with the matte finish of dyed flag bunting.
