Neon Spelt
Neon Spelt (#C9A103) is a true amber with a vibrant character. It holds its own as a focal accent, carrying visual weight without tipping into neon territory. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Etymology
Greek néon, new — element-name (atomic-number 10), discovered by William Ramsay in 1898. As a color modifier, neon implies a saturated-and-electric-glow quality, the bright color of Las-Vegas-and-Times-Square neon-marquee gas-discharge-tube emission. Sits at the bright-and-electric end of the grid, parallel to electric and fluorescent in usage.
Triticum spelta, the ancient wheat species cultivated in Europe since the Bronze Age — slowly returning to artisan baking after a century of displacement by modern wheat. The color refers to a fresh-baked spelt loaf: a soft, slightly muted warm tan with the slightly nuttier finish of ancient-grain flour.
