Ignited Pistachio
Ignited Pistachio (#C6FD95) is a soft lime with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. Its HSL profile (92°, 96%, 79%) places it in the highly saturated band at a light lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. For a confident two-color system, pair it with its complementary indigo. For something softer, pull in its analogous neighbors on either side of the wheel.
Etymology
Latin ignīre, to set on fire — past-participle of ignite. As a color modifier, ignited implies a saturated-and-just-started-burning quality, the bright color of match-strike-and-flint-spark initial-combustion emission. Sits at the bright-and-warm end of the grid, parallel to kindled and aflame in usage.
Pistacia vera, the desert tree from western Asia whose green nut has been a delicacy in Iranian and Levantine cooking for at least three thousand years. The color refers to the cotyledon meat inside the shell: a soft, slightly muted yellow-green with the warmth of plant fat. Lighter than sage, deeper than mint, with the unmistakable association of a Sicilian gelato or a Persian pastry.
