Mapped Yew
Mapped Yew (#C4FAC3) is a soft green with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. Its HSL profile (119°, 85%, 87%) places it in the highly saturated band at a light lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Latin mappa, cloth / napkin — past-participle of map. Sits at the crisp-and-mapped end of the grid, parallel to plotted and surveyed in usage.
Taxus baccata, the European yew — a long-lived conifer (some specimens over 2,000 years old) traditionally planted in English churchyards. The color refers to mature yew foliage: a deep, slightly muted very dark green with the matte finish of resin-coated needle foliage. Darker than juniper.
