Twinkling Kikyo
Twinkling Kikyo (#C37FFD) is a soft indigo with a cool character. It leans cool, sitting on the blue, green, and violet side of the wheel. Quiet and dependable, a fit for product UI and data visualization. Its HSL profile (272°, 97%, 75%) places it in the highly saturated band at a light lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Old English twinclian, to wink rapidly — present-participle of twinkle. Japanese 桔梗, the balloon flower (Platycodon grandiflorus) — a wild perennial of Japanese mountainsides whose star-shaped corolla unfurls from an inflated bud. The flower is one of the Seven Autumn Flowers of classical waka poetry. Kikyo color refers to a fully unfurled Platycodon grandiflorus corolla: a saturated, slightly cool deep violet with the velvet finish of fresh balloon-flower petals.
