Open Aizu
Open Aizu (#C2C1F8) is a soft blue with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. Its HSL profile (241°, 80%, 86%) places it in the highly saturated band at a light lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Etymology
Old English open, unobstructed — used as a color modifier since the eighteenth century for hues that read as airy or uncrowded. Aizu color refers to a freshly aizu-momen-woven indigo cotton: a saturated, slightly cool deep blue-violet with the matte finish of multi-bath natural indigo on hand-spun cotton.
