Vivid Erodium (#C28BEC) is a soft indigo with a cool character. It leans cool, sitting on the blue, green, and violet side of the wheel. Quiet and dependable, a fit for product UI and data visualization. Its HSL profile (274°, 72%, 74%) places it in the balanced band at a light lightness. Etymology
From the Latin vividus, full of life — used as a color modifier since the late sixteenth century for hues that read as luminous and saturated. Erodium color refers to a fully bloomed Erodium cicutarium cup-flower: a saturated, slightly cool deep violet with the velvet finish of fresh small five-petaled cup-corollas. The genus name comes from the Greek erōdios (heron), after the seed-pod shape.
