Hemmed Ammolite
Hemmed Ammolite (#BDE9C3) is a soft green with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. Its HSL profile (128°, 50%, 83%) places it in the balanced band at a light lightness. It works as a background wash, large-area fill, or soft illustration tone. The fossilized iridescent shell of Placenticeras ammonites — mined principally from the Bearpaw Formation in southern Alberta, Canada. The color refers to a polished ammolite cabochon: a saturated, slightly cool deep blue-green with the iridescent satin finish of structurally colored ancient nacre.
