Effulgent Resin
Effulgent Resin (#BDBA01) is a true yellow with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (59°, 99%, 37%) places it in the highly saturated band at a mid lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Etymology
Latin effulgēns, shining-out — present-participle of effulgere, sharing root with fulgor (lightning). As a color modifier, effulgent implies a saturated-and-radiating-light-out quality, the bright color of Renaissance-Madonna halo-and-aureole gold-leaf-and-pigment emission. Sits at the bright-and-saturated end of the grid, parallel to resplendent and radiant in usage.
Plant-secreted aromatic compounds — pine sap, frankincense, copal, dammar — used as the binder for varnishes, the source of incense, and the pigment-binder for medieval European paint. The color refers to fresh pine resin on bark: a saturated, slightly cool pale gold-yellow with the slight translucency of fresh tree sap.
