Ignited Sorrel
Ignited Sorrel (#BBF699) is a soft lime with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. Its HSL profile (98°, 84%, 78%) places it in the highly saturated band at a light lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Latin ignīre, to set on fire — past-participle of ignite. As a color modifier, ignited implies a saturated-and-just-started-burning quality, the bright color of match-strike-and-flint-spark initial-combustion emission. Sits at the bright-and-warm end of the grid, parallel to kindled and aflame in usage.
Rumex acetosa, the European dock-family green whose tart oxalic-acid leaves are eaten as soup ingredient (soupe d'oseille) and salad green. The color refers to fresh sorrel leaves in spring: a saturated, slightly muted yellow-green with the matte finish of arrow-shaped leaves. Cooler than spinach.
