Defined Sorrel
Defined Sorrel (#BADA8F) is a soft lime with a cool character. It leans cool, sitting on the blue, green, and violet side of the wheel. It works as a background wash, large-area fill, or soft illustration tone. Add a darker ink of the same hue when you need type over it. Latin dēfīnīre, to set bounds — past-participle of define. Rumex acetosa, the European dock-family green whose tart oxalic-acid leaves are eaten as soup ingredient (soupe d'oseille) and salad green. The color refers to fresh sorrel leaves in spring: a saturated, slightly muted yellow-green with the matte finish of arrow-shaped leaves. Cooler than spinach.
