Engraved Yanagi
Engraved Yanagi (#B9E39F) is a soft lime with a cool character. It leans cool, sitting on the blue, green, and violet side of the wheel. Quiet and dependable, a fit for product UI and data visualization. Its HSL profile (97°, 55%, 76%) places it in the balanced band at a light lightness. It works as a background wash, large-area fill, or soft illustration tone. Add a darker ink of the same hue when you need type over it. Etymology
Old French engraver, to dig in — past-participle of engrave. As a color modifier, engraved implies a clear-and-precisely-cut quality, the crisp color of Albrecht-Dürer-and-Hogarth hand-pulled engraving-print fine-line incised-image. Salix — the willow in Japanese, and the soft yellow-green of fresh willow leaves in spring. Yanagi-iro is a traditional Japanese fashion color, distinct from moegi by its slightly cooler shift.
