Effulgent Arugula
Effulgent Arugula (#AFF992) is a soft green with a cool character. It leans cool, sitting on the blue, green, and violet side of the wheel. Quiet and dependable, a fit for product UI and data visualization. Its HSL profile (103°, 90%, 77%) places it in the highly saturated band at a light lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Etymology
Latin effulgēns, shining-out — present-participle of effulgere, sharing root with fulgor (lightning). As a color modifier, effulgent implies a saturated-and-radiating-light-out quality, the bright color of Renaissance-Madonna halo-and-aureole gold-leaf-and-pigment emission. Sits at the bright-and-saturated end of the grid, parallel to resplendent and radiant in usage.
Eruca vesicaria, the Mediterranean mustard-family green — peppery and bitter, eaten as rocket in British English and rucola in Italian. Arugula color refers to fresh wild arugula leaves: a saturated, slightly muted deep yellow-green with the matte finish of small notched leaves.
