Iced Lithodora
Iced Lithodora (#AFD2E3) is a soft azure with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. Its HSL profile (200°, 48%, 79%) places it in the balanced band at a light lightness. It works as a background wash, large-area fill, or soft illustration tone. Etymology
The past participle of ice — used as a color modifier since the eighteenth century for hues with the optical brightness of a thin layer of frozen water. The genus Lithodora — Mediterranean rock-garden ground covers with intensely deep-blue flowers. L. diffusa 'Heavenly Blue' is among the most saturated blue flowers grown in temperate gardens. The color refers to a fresh L. diffusa mat in flower: a saturated, slightly cool deep blue with the matte finish of small five-petaled flower.
