Buttressed Cyclamen

Old French bouterez, thrusting-mass — past-participle of buttress, derived from bouter (to thrust). The genus Cyclamen — the small Mediterranean and alpine perennials whose distinctive backswept petals appear in autumn and persist through winter snow. The color refers to a fresh deep-pink Cyclamen persicum hybrid: a saturated, slightly cool deep pink-magenta with the satiny finish of swept-back petal form.
